At the end of the 19th century, a healing method was rediscovered in ancient Sanskrit texts by a Japanese scholar, Mikaomi Usui.

Mikaomi Usui called it Reiki (pronounced ray-key) a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy. Reiki has no association with religion, faith or belief systems, and can be received by anyone who is willing to be healed.

Reiki healing benefits physical, mental and emotional health. Some people feel very relaxed and may even fall asleep whilst others may talk about what they are feeling. The healing energy can feel hot or cold, and there may be tingling sensations.

Seichem (pronounced say-keem) works in the same way as Reiki, with hands placed on the body, but in addition, hands may be working in the aura which surrounds the body. It is reputedly one of the healing arts practised in ancient Egypt.

This hands-on treatment is a gentle form of healing, releasing the stresses held in the body, leaving the individual in a more calm and relaxed state afterwards. Reiki can also help individuals in the latter stages of life in coming to terms with the death process. It does this by promoting relaxation, therefore, reducing the effects of trauma which in turn helps passing to be a more calm and peaceful process. The therapist is not the healer, You are. The therapist is the facilitating wire that provides the channelled connection from Source for what is to come through in that moment for you. Our bodies are very, very clever and know how to heal themselves, when we ‘listen‘.

Reiki (Earth) is one of the four elemental rays which make up the energies of Seichem – Water (Sophi-El), Spirit (Angeliclight), and Fire (Sakara) all help to;

Ease tension * Soothe pain * Promote relaxation * Boost the immune system * Improve the quality of sleep * Reduce the effects of trauma * Support other complementary therapies * Support medical treatments

You remain fully clothed throughout the session whilst lying or sitting down. The energies take a few days to assimilate during which time you may feel revitalised or worse for a while… a good sign that you are releasing the cause of your symptoms.

We all have a shadow side. Just as there is positive and negative so too there is light and dark. At times we may feel that our energy is ‘not our own‘. At times like this, we can become ‘lost’, loosing our way in life, though all is not lost. We can do the human work internally on our own shadow self. Clear out all the debris, all the negative unwanted ‘fears’, lies and untruths lurking within for then we can begin anew. Face our own shadow and then watch the ripple effect…

As with any self-work assimilation time is important. Be kind to yourself, always allowing your body the time to assimilate the healing that has taken place. Drinking plenty of water the day before, the day of, and the day after any healing session will also assist with your body’s detoxification process. Taking a hot salt bath is another way to help the body in releasing toxins, remembering only to bathe for a maximum of 20 minutes, rinsing off fully in the shower afterwards; or walking barefoot on Mother Earth, best still walking in the salty waters of the Ocean.
